VS8 audio capture from VHS VCR

Hi all,

I am trying to digitise some old VHS tapes, so I have my VCR connected to my PC via a USB Lynx box.
Using VS8 in capture mode, I cannot hear any audio, and the PC will not capture any audio.
However, with exactly the same h/w setup, if I run PowerDirector, I can hear the sound from the VHS through the computer's speakers and it will be captured. That tells me that the system setup is OK, so what is wrong with VS8? Am I missing something?

At the moment I use power Director for capture and VS8 for processing, but I would like to ditch PD for VS8.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

PS. I'm runing Win2000 prof with 640MB of Ram.

Not sure about that, but I know that firewire is the way forward for capturing.
