Merging projects

Post by shawnx »

I have a problem with DVDWKS-2. I have a rather large project with
several nested menus & it is nearing completion. The problem I have is that the processor is bogged down. Every time I move a button or other
object, it takes up to a minute for my mouse pointer to come back. When
I start a new project with only a few menus, the PC is blazing fast. I have
a 1.6G P4 with 1G of memory & a 1G paging file & a very fast disk controller. The slowdown appears in the processor performance window
of the windoze task manager with the processor load nearing 100% When
my mouse pointer comes back it drops back to 5-10 % which is normal.
No spyware, antivirus or others to get in the way. Only when I load this complicated project does things slow down.

I wonder if there is a way I can break this large project into seperate smaller ones & then merge them together at "finishing" time. Any input
would be greatly appreciated since I am at a standstill.

I don't know whether it'll work, but it may be because of temp file problems. Save and close the project, find and delete the contents of the temp file, open the project and see whether that helps.

Unfortunately, you haven't done as requested in http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8962 and filled in the hardware details in your profile, so we have no way of judging whether you have a limitation at this level. How much free space do you have in your C: drive? Ideally you should have at least 10 Gb when working with WS2.
