VS10 Overlays and Moving Paths Question of Timing

Post by dblml320 »

Hello,

I have been playing with overlays, and anticipating VS10 with 6 overlay tracks. I did some playing yesterday with a project where various pictures animate in and out of the four quandrants of the screen.

My question is this: Is there any way to play with the timing of the clip on the motion path? I would like the clip to animate in slowly, stay stationary for a couple seconds, then animate leaving very quickly.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi,

Yes there is. Just drag the small triangles "trim handles" that are called "pause/duration" when adjusting attributes, to adjust the duration. For the clip to fade-in / slide -in slow the left handle would be more towards the middle, the right handle being towards the center, would allow the clip to fade-out / slide-out slowly. However the duration the clip would appear would be shorter.

More specific to your needs, make sure the left Pause/Duration handle is positioned more to the center. Then drag the Right handle close to the right side. This will allow your clip to appear slowly, be static, then fade out or slide out fast..
