Applying transitional effects across several images

Post by brucefl »

Is there a way to apply one transitional effect to several clips at the same time?
I try selecting all or several clips, then click on the effect drop down tab, but then they de-select, tried the other way with no success?
Is this possible?
thanks Bruce

In VS9:

File>Preferences>General Tab - check Use Default Transition Effect and choose your transition from the drop-down menu.

Now when you add clips to your timeline the transition will automatically be inserted. (You can't do it to clips already on the timeline.)

also, if you double-click a transition thumbnail it will be applied to the first available space between two clips.
If you double-click repeatedly it will be added to the next etc...
