I want to purchase Movie Factory. Does it Convert DVD-R or VRO Files to mpeg so I can edit?

Yes, the program will do that.
You can go throught the tutorials to get an idea of how it's done.
There are tutorials on this forum and at the ulead web site.

Download the free trial first. Some people are having trouble with this, and I get the impression that Movie Factory is incompatible with some stand-alone DVD burners.
