Cannot update ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO 8.0

Hello, I recently bought ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO 8.0 software (CD version) on eBay. It is version 8.0. Now I am trying to update with the patches etc. But everytime I download and try those update patches, I keep getting error message ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO CANNOT BE FOUND ON YOUR SYSTEM. INSTALL IT FIRST.

I know it is installed properly as I can access it and use it. I also have registered with the SR NO provided by the seller.

Any idea ? thanks I really need to download patch that allows UVS 8.0 to burn DOUBLE LAYER DVDs.

Thanks Steve. I can download the patch. This is no problem. I cannot install it as it gives message syaing ULEAD VS not found on you PC..

I know it is already installed as it works fine.

You probable have a Special Edition of Video Studio, patches won't install to SE verisons of Video Studio.

Just to make sure you haven't been ripped off by whoever sold it to you on eBay, when you say you registered with the serial number provided, have you tried to register with the Ulead Website to make sure you have a legitimate disc. Also check the surface of the disc which should be a shiny silver surface - compare it to a disc you have purchased in a shop.

If its some other colour and also if by moving it about in the light you can see an area slightly darker than the rest of the disc surface, you will have been ripped off.

If you do have a legitimate disc then try the clean installation procedure outlined in this post:

The disc is shiny silver alright but it is ULEAD VS 8.0 SPECIAL EDITION OR SE as it says on the software CD. Not sure why would patch not work with it. Yes I did register with ULEAD WEBSITE WITH THE SR NO provided by the ebay seller and this went through alright. Is it true with SE VERSION. the patches will not work?

Go to this link and read the brown text below the patches, some of the patches will work wit VS8 SE, however, the 8.01 patch won't work with the SE version. The other patches are supposed to work with the SE versions.
