I have captured a 24 minute clip from my FX1E using the MPEG 1400 x 1080 setting (4 Gb) then created a proxy AVI 720 x 576 using the PAL DV template (5 Gb!) Editing is impossibly slow and my processor and RAM are only working about 30%. It won't let me reduce the AVI size in the proxy template. What am I doing wrong?

My problem was when MSP8 created proxy files, I took to long, I disabled smart proxy and am getting better performance.

What is slow is when I create a m2t file to send back to the tape.

If you are not going to send your video files back to tape you should try Movie Factory 5 or Video Studio 10 Plus the Modules for producing HD video are newer and are faster. MF5 only has limited editing capabilities, VS10+ has more editing/transition options.

I have quit using MSP8 for HD and use MF5 and now VS10+

Thanks tyamada, just trying it out now and it seems to work great. How can I produce Mt2 files? Mediastudio?

The only way to make m2t files with Ulead products is with Media Studio Pro 8 or 7 with HD plug-in, however I understand 7 never worked right.

Try VS10+ for editing and create output to m2t with MSP8.

Yes, this works. Rendering to M2t from the MPG file takes around 1 hour per 10 minutes. Is that about right?

It depends on the length of the video, it takes a lot of horsepower to render HD video. However, sounds about right.
