If you run chkdsk include the "R" Switch.

Video Studio 10 Plus Problems

If you run the chkdsk utility from Windows Explorer, right click on the drive, select properties, select tools tab, select check now, check fix system errors, and reboot the computer, all errors will be fixed automatically with out the /r. The /r is required if you run Chkdsk from the file run program.

Not quite.
There are different "Switches" available that can be used with chkdsk.
You can do a check only (without any switches)
You can use switch F that fixes file structure problems
Switch R does what switch F does and also checks for bad blocks.
Full list of switches are listed here:

Steve I have had Windows XP fix my disks without the switches, If you use the sequence I suggested. I usually don't have to use the switches.
I have had Windows repair a Hard drive on boot if it detected a corrupted disk, all entries bad entries in the MFT were repaired and lost file segments renamed, I just did it not a week ago.
I build and repair computers and install operating systems, been doing it for 15 years. Have been using Windows XP ever since it came out.

Sorry guys but no sale.
If my hardware is working fine for capturing and importing dvd's with several other pieces of software, on a healthy system only a month old and with all updates, then it's the fault of Ulead's software. Period. All the tweaks and fixes in the world aren't going to change that. I'm not about to take a chance on messing up everything else by jumping through hoops to make VS10+ work to do all it's supposed to do.
If I decide to buy the upgrade, I'll just make myself forget that it's supposed to do all those other things. I'll just use it for adding effects and titles and exporting to MPG2, AVI, WMV, etc. It does work nicely for those purposes. I have other, better, more stable software to do everything else I need to do.

I hope we're not getting personal here.tyamada wrote:I build and repair computers and install operating systems, been doing it for 15 years. Have been using Windows XP ever since it came out.
Actually I am very impressed. You've been building and repairing computers for 15 years. Now not many people can follow the BASIC instructions to do that and have to refer to the ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE whilst sucking on a PASCAL fruit. Of course us old one's nowadays have to take our FORTRAN to fortify the over fourties!

Hum....that reminds me to my studies on BASIC, PASCAL, C, Assembly, and FORTRAN for the past 16 years....
Oh, did I also mention C++?
Sorry, I just cannot help on that.
For PVR250 issue with UVS 10, I will take it to someone who might interests.
Best regards,
H.T.
