Your bit rate is way too high and not many standalone DVD players would be able to handle it. for some suggested MPEG settings please viewVariable Bit Rate (max 9558kbps)

The bit-rate 9558 is the MAX bit-rate.
The dvd recorders use a different encoding scheme which makes them alittle
harder to work with the files because with ulead you need to know the true
"Average_Bit_Rate".
My dvd recorders when imported by ulead will show max 9558 or 9800 bit_rate.
When you view the dvd playing and watch a bit-rate analyzer the bit-rate
averages approx 4800 at Standard Recordihg speed (2 hour mode)..
There is nothing wrong with the mpeg2 files created in the Sony recorder.
It's a different encoder than what ulead uses.
Posters question:
>>>I am using the mini DVD that my Panasonic VDR D100 records onto.
>>>Placing it into my DVD Drive and using videostudio 9 SE to insert the
>>>movie. (using the insert DVD/DVD-VR wizard).
You can't hear the sound because you posted you are using Video_Studio_9 SE (special edition). That version doesn't support dolby audio I don't believe and comes bunled as an OEM package with a hardware device.
