I have worked out on my system that approx 1 hour video will fit a 4.7G DVD. Is there any other way Video Studio can assist in working out what Video will fit a DVD. The only way I know, is to split the file into hourly sections and copy one section at a time. It is a pitty Video Studio won't allow you to Span from one DVD to another. The problem I have is you may think the video will fit but after waiting for Video Studio to prepare the Video file which takes a while, then it tells you that you do not have enough space on your DVD, Frustrating!! Can aybody assist??
Thanks

I believe you are using VS8.
If you are creating video file .mpg, VS does not give you any clue as to how much space it is going to take on a DVD disk. To figure it out, before creating video file, go to share-->create disk, and go through to the last step where it asks you to select whether to create .iso file and/or dvd folders. Do not click "output". The project size indicator (the bar at the bottom and the filesize) will tell you how much space the whole compilation is going to take. If it goes beyond 4.7 (or 4.4?), reduce the video and audio bitrate settings in the custom menu (the geartooth wheel icon) and see whether the size is correct. It needs to be less than 4.4GB. If you plan to have menus, leave a little more space (total file size less than 4.3GB). Note down the custom settings and cancel the whole procedure. Go to Share-->Create Video File, select appropriate format (PAL/NTSC DVD) or custom and select the same settings that were used in "Create Disk" procedure.
Hopefully you will get a video file that fits the disk. Best of luck!
