DVDMF 5 saved project - Some things not saved!

Post by rdenny »

If you open a saved project in DVDMF 5, the title and chapter menu templates are not saved. They revert to a SmartMenu. You have to go through and reapply your saved favorites. Too bad if you don't save your modified templates as favorites!

not fixed then

oh dear - I was hoping this had been fixed. Ever since DMF3 I have seen some things not saved correctly, it used to be font sizes on menus i had created.

Personally I don't get it, how hard can it be to save and restore project settings, I mean DMF does some cool stuff, but fails to do some simple stuff properly.

On occasions DMF drives me nuts but now and then it gets it right and impresses.

I just did a test. I modify a SmartScene Menu template (05_OneS03), save the project, close DVDMF 5, start it again and open the project, all modifications I made in the menu template are saved properly.

Can you list your steps for customizing the template?

If you select Edit in the Setup Menu stage:

And then select Customize:

You will see the Customize Menu editor to be appeared:

In this editor if you do some modifications you will see the Add to menu template button to be enabled to let you add your own menu templates to the Favorites gallery in DVDMF 5:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the detailed reply. The problem I am having relates to saving the selection of the menu template, not to changes in the menu templates themselves.

I have several custom menu templates saved in my Favorites. After completing the project, exiting DMF5, when I later open the same project, it shows one of the standard templates, not the Favorite that I used. I must again select the favoreite template to restore the project. Also, the duration of the motion menu is forgotten, it reverts to the default setting. I must re-specify the motion menu duration.

I wish I could attach the project!
