Cannot Save Project

With MovieFactory 5.0, I can take video from a DVD, break it into chapters and burn it back onto a DVD.

But if try to modify the chapters in any way, such as adding text or cropping extraneous video off the ends, the program says my project can't be saved.

When I open the project later, the chapters are there but the modifications have not registered at all.

With MovieFactory 4.0, I was able to create a project with text but no chapters, but when I tried to go back to view it the program always "caused an error" and had to be shut down by Windows.

FOLLOWUP:

The problem is apparently due to the fact that the file I was working with is in the MPEG format.

I did the editing in VideoReDo and then moved the edited file to DMF for effects and text. I was then able to save it.
