UK members who've not not yet upgraded to VS9 might like to note that PC World are selling the full version for £19.99. Presumably they're clearing the shelves prior to the arrival of VS10.

Upgrade ?

Post by pdunn »

Hmm - worth looking into, thanks - but the Scot in me has to ask if they're selling the upgrade even cheaper ? Neither are on their website.

Also, can one migrate to V9 mid-project or is it better to finish it, at least to rendering stage, in V8 ?

I picked up a copy in the Tottenham Court Road Branch (London). Didn't see any upgrade versions — but then I've never seen VS upgrades there. I can't see the offer on their website either so it may be an instore-only promotion. Maybe people who're interested should phone their local branch first to check.

Sorry, can't help with your technical query — I'm upgrading from VS6SE! Maybe others can help.

Whilst it is technically possible to open an earlier project in a newer version there are sometimes compatability issues due to new routines in the new program. The veterans of this forum therefore always highly recommend that a project started in one version should be completed in that version.
