Hi,
I'm using VS8. I would like to have my videos compressed with Divx.
The problem is that I can not find the DivX codec in the Avi Compression- codec list. I have tried with DivX 5.2.1 and also with the DivX 6.2. Also, the Xvid codec is missing from the codec list, although both apear in VirtualDub.
I have tried to chage a value in the registry (as suggested in http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=7923) but nothing changed.
Pleas help...
Thank you,
Catalin

DivX, as you realise, is an mpeg-4 format, though is wrapped up in an .AVI carrier file. VS8, simply put, cannot deal with mpeg-4 files. You need VS9 for that, or else you produce an mpeg-2 with VS8 and use a third party program (like the freeware Super) or even the DivX Converter which comes with the current DivX Creator bundle which, however, you have to buy, to convert it to DivX/mpeg-4 format...

Thank you for the reply.
The VideoStudio, no matter which version is, would have to list _all_ the codecs found in the system, isn't it? So, no matter which codec I choose for compression, it should use it....
I only get an 3ivx and an Divx 4, both installed with AceMega codecs. But I want to use Divx 5
or xvid, which are not listed, although they are installed...
