Problem with avi videos
Hi, I'm new to this, and this problem probably has occured before. I'm trying to put my avi videos (w/Divx codec) on DVD to free up space, but the videos are coming out real "jerky" with poor sound once MovieFactory 5 converts the video. I understand that the quality goes down with the conversions, but the quality that I've been getting is not acceptable. Is there anything that I can do to get even respectable picture quality when converting avi files?

Then you need to tell us as much detail as possible concerning the source of the video files, method of importing the video into the computer and the settings you have chosen to author the DVD.
A list of suggested settings can be found in the 7th post down here:

DivX is a highly compressed format, much more so than the MPEG2 format required to create DVD VOB files. It is a format normally used for transfering files over the internet.
Several users have reported problems with files created with DivX Xvid and MPEG4 which are all basically the same. I normally decompress them beforehand.
There are plenty of programs around to perform this task. One such program is named Super and can be found in our list of freebies
