Hi, Folks,
I have been using MF3SE very successfully for a fair time and decided to upgrade to MF5. Of course, I tried 5 out via the try before you buy system and it worked fine. However, now that I have bought the thing it will not burn a DVD for me. I get the following error message:
"MPEG program stream is not compatible with this DVD engine". Can anyone out there sort this for me? I have sent an email to the techies but I have found in the past that they are not the fastest guns in the west. Hope someone out there can help.

Try re-installing it after following the procedure found on the 5th post down

Thanks Steve for your advice on this. However, I followed your instructions to the letter and it still gave me the same error message as before. Incidentally, there was a number at the bottom of the box which may be significant:sjj1805 wrote:Try re-installing it after following the procedure found on the 5th post down

Any ideas?

Hi again, Steve,sjj1805 wrote:I did a google search but could find no reference to 533-2147216487:0
Please detail the source of your video file how it got into the computer and its properties (right click it on the tmeline)
I captured the movie file from a Sony VCR via my Hauppage PVR150 capture card. I then used MF5 to attempt to render the film onto DVD. The whole process went through quite smoothly until it came to actually burning the resultant file and it then gave me the error message. I am not really very sure what timeline you refer to, but the computer is an Athlon 2400 XP with a GeForce 5200 video card and 2.5Gig of RAM. I still have MF3SE on board and I actually managed to successfully burn the DVD via that route. Incidentally, the DVD writer is a Pioneer DVR 109 on a PCI internal slot.
Thanks,

When you burn the DVD in DMF5, close the Ulead Quick-Drop tool in the system tray before you click on Burn to see if the DVD can be burned successfully.
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your input. I will try that idea and will let you know if it rectifies the problem. Whilst on the subject of MF5, could you let me know how I can open up vts files for editing. I have a wedding video which was on DVD and which I have copied onto the hard disk but after opening two of the files everything freezes on me. This has happened several times and I wondered if I needed to convert the files to a different format for MF5 to "read" them. If they need converting what program would you suggest I use to do this.
Thanks very much,

I think maybe there is something wrong in the DVD files. Maybe you can find DVD Shrink by using Google to open the DVD folder and save it to a new DVD folder to see if it can correct the DVD files.

Thanks very much for your advice on my incompatibility issue in MF5. The good news is that you were right and the problem was in the drop to disk facility. Once I had disabled this everything went through very smoothly and I managed to convert and burn a 90 minute movie in about 47 minutes. Many thanks.
