No Audio on Imported MPEG files

Post by kirkstites »

I am creating MPEG files with Adobe Premire 6.5 and its MPEG encoder. The audio is multiplexed. The files play fine in Windows Media and other players, but when imported into DVD Workshop 2.0 (D1), there is no audio. These files DO have audio when imported into DVD Workshop version 1! AVI files seem to be working OK in Workshop 2.0. What’s up? (This is the full version, not the trial version of Workshop)

Sorry, I can't directly help you. I don't have Premiere, but I've been using multiplexed MPEG files without that problem. There must be something "different" about the Premiere-generated files. Maybe you can experiment with it's settings??? Maybe you're using a bit-rate too high for Workshop to handle or somethin'. ???

FYI - My multiplexed MPEG files were generated with a Hauppauge capture card, and either burned unedited, or edited with Ulead Video Studio, or Womble MPEG Video Wizard.

[EDIT] - I assume this the same as Version 1, but just in case: Go to Edit -> Audio. Make sure that your MPEG file is listed as the Audio Track, and click "Convert to Disc Template"

I don't really expect that to help. :( The audio track should be there by default, and when I forgot to click "Convert to Disc Template", I did get sound, but it converted it to LPCM (and I was trying to get AC3).
