Whilst trying to find out why a DVD wouldnt play I found, using IfoEdit the following information on the IFO files:
VTS_01_0_IFO:
VTS overview:
Menu attributes:
Video: MPEG-1 720x480 (NTSC) (NTSC 525/60) (4:3) (pan-scan & letterboxed)
Title Set (Movie) attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (4:3) (not specified perm.display)
Audio 1: English (Mpeg-1 ) 2ch 48Kbps 20bps (ID: 0xc0)
VIDEO_TS.IFO:
VMG Overview:
Video Manager Menu attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (4:3) (not specified perm.display)
Number of Title Play Maps: 1 (VMG_PTT_SRPT)
Title 1: VTS_01_*, TTN_1 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 1) (Start Sector 35)
Now this shouild be a PAL DVD yet the VIDEO_01_0.ifo file says NTSC MPEG1!
Anyone know what this means? Is it a bug in DVDWS? I tried the same project in a Sonic product and both IFOs show PAL.
Thanks
DVD WS2 Strange info
Are the project settings set-up to make a PAL DVD? Did you check the boxes that say Convert to disc template? I think there is one box for the menu, and separate audio & video boxes for each title.
What can you tell us about your source files? Are they MPEG-1 or MEPG-2? Are they PAL?
A DVD can have MPEG-1 video.... But only at half-resolution, not at 720 x 480. And, I didn't even know Workshop could make an MPEG-1 DVD...
