I'd like to make some photos from screen caps of DVDs. I can't find this covered in the manual nor in the books I have on 7.0 (which is what I have).
I have no problem pausing the DVD and capturing the image, then pasting it into 7.0. However, when it comes time to save as a jpg, all I wind up with is a black box.
Is it possible to do this with 7.0, or do I have to buy a special program to accomplish what I want? Thanks!~Bountifully, Fuchsia

It sounds like you are perhaps hitting the "PrtSc" button when you say you are pasting into PhotoImpact.
What DVD software are you using to play the DVD, you will most likely find it includes a screen capture option where you can save a screen capture in a few different formats such as the JPG you mentioned but also BMP and perhaps a few others.

Thank you, Steve! I have no idea what software I'm using. It's whatever came with PI7. However, searching through one of my PI7 books last night, I see that there is a way to do print screen from the program itself, so I'll give that a try.
If that doesn't work, I'll try to figure out what the software is, and come back to get other suggestions, okay? Your advice is much appreciated!~Bountifully, Fuchsia

Okay, finally found the time to figure this out. I have Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator Home 6.2.0.134, but don't find a screen capture option in any of its sub-programs. Are you familiar with it at all? I've posted a message on their forum, too, but didn't receive a reply yet. Roxio Player that bundles with Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 does not have a snapshot feature.
All is not lost..... Download the following FREE DVD player, it includes a snapshot function.

Wow, Steve, you're a bottomless pit of helpful info, aren't you?! I'm definitely going to try those and will let you know what happens.
In the meantime, all those links you gave me on making collages finally got me my answer, and I spent a great deal of time today reading tutorials, bookmarking sites, and copying a lot of ideas.
Thank you SO much!~Bountifully, Fuchsia
