Problem importing subtitles
I am in charge of putting together a multimedia presentation and I would like to use video from a DVD. I ripped the DVD to my computer, and can import it into Ulead VS 9, but there are no subtitles. On the import screen it shows that there are subtitles in the DVD files, but when the clip is in the library as an mpeg there are no subtitles. Is there a way to add the subtitles from a DVD to the imported mpeg? Thanks for your help.
As far as I know, Video Studio can't do subtitles.
DVD Workshop can, but I don't think you can import them from an existing DVD.
You may be able to find a tool to extract the subtitle "text"*, but you'll probably have to do some manual adjustment of the subtitle time-placement.
* If I remember correctly, subtitles are actually pictures of text (sub-pictures) whereas closed-captions are actually text.
That's really not that important unless you're trying to edit existing subtitles... You can't do it with a text editor... If I remember correctly.
