Hi - I'm a newbie so please be kind.
I am using a Sony DCR-TRV310E PAL (in Australia). I am hooked up to my PC via Firewire and everything seems to work correctly using Ulead VS9.
Windows XP Pro system.
Except that during my home video shoots I can press a “photo” button which freezes the frame for about 5 second. This is where I get a problem. On my video camera and on replay to TV via video cables everything looks fine. But on my captured video (to avi) the “Photo” freeze shots are not stable. They “jiggle”. Perhaps the normal video also jiggles but I do not notice due to motion.
Wish I hadn't upgraded from VS6 which didn't have these probelms. I think I also upgraded MS Movie Maker so it may have installed a different codec.
Has anyone any helpful hints. Could this be a CODEC problem? If so where can I get the latest Codec.
Thanks in advance

I think its normal, my camcorder behaves just the same and I think the still image function of the camcorder is a bit of a gimmick.
I don't use the still image function of the camcorder anymore as I found you get a far better picture just taking a still image from the actual video.
I think that camcorders are for videos and digital cameras are for still images. The manufacturers include options to do the "other thing" but as I say, they are simply gimmick selling points.
The digital camera will not replace the camcorder

The mobile phone will never replace either.
