Hmm this is a bit of a puzzler. Using the 64 bit edition should be acceptable as I've just double checked the system requirements

ok thanks, just for info I'm not a novice as such but not a professional either, build and maintain everything myself on several systems and run network etc. so not totally thick.
used to working in registry etc and theres no way I can get it to install, spent some time on this now and feel sure it's something to do with what I've got installed combined with win64.
As said at start, installed fine on win32 system and tried it on a second with the same programs installed (anti virus, firewall etc) as on this win64 system, all the things that may cause problems, and it installed perfect.
The only difference I can see is windows itself this system being 64 bit.
Either that or it's time for a clean windows install but everything else installs and runs fine, tried running other installs today and they all went fine, also tried uninstalling DVDMF4 and re-installing and that went fine.
wierd
thanks again much appreciated

Thermos,
I have a system designed to run 64bit, however do not. As far as I know, MF4 will not run under 64 bit, however MF5 will.
See the system specs for MF5 here: http://www.ulead.com/dmf/sysreq.htm

ok well thanks to everyone for their help and advice,
decided to do a re-install of windows and hey presto, all's fine, installed perfectly, still no real idea what was wrong, sounds like a corrupted windoze or similar.
Well to confirm MF5 installs and works fine on win64 (and again installed MF4 as well which also installed and worked fine even though win64 is not stated in it's requirements).
thanks again.
