project w 3 source avi's, captured w different settings

Working with what I believe is a fully patched VS 7.0, Windows XP Pro.

I have a short test project that is producing a final DVD with jittery motion, and I'm trying to figure out what happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The project uses clips from 3 different source avi files, and each has different properties. I suspect this is the problem, but I'm unsure of the fix. The fix would be useful because I also have a much longer project to finish that has similar issues, and recapturing and redoing the project is out of the question. Here's the properties of the three AVI files:

AVI #1:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
MainConcept DV Codec 2.4.4 -- type 2
PCM
48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

AVI #2:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC
48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

AVI #3:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC
32.0000 kHz, 12 Bit, Stereo

I then rendered the project to an mpeg file with these properties:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
NTSC DVD,8000 kbps
MPEG Audio Layer 2 Files
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Then, new project, mpeg file only added via Share >> Add Video, and Create Video Folders (to create DVD files for later burning), I believe using the following settings:
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: 8000 kbps
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

The final burned disc, on a standalone player, produces the jerky or jittery motion video. (although all clips play fine on the PC.) The jittery is not the "stripey legs" type; its just all jittery, the whole image; the jitters are worse the faster the movement.

Again, my theory is that this has something to do with the capture settings. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Why did you go for frame-based in the final video, rather than Field Order A (Lower Field First)?

Yes, as ken says, try with lower order first. as to the other problem, try exporting each project as an avi file of same attributes and load those avi file in the final project. I have not come across this kind of problem but it might just work.

Ummmm -- Because I didn't know what I was doing? Because I wasn't paying attention? Thanks for the tip. I'll try again with Lower first, and report back.

Lower Order First indeed did the trick. Thanks so much.
