Audo sync problem with Image+Effect+video

Post by KamiKaxxe »

P4 2.4 Intel HT
1.5 Gb DDR 3200
2x80 Gb SATA
DVD+-RW
VS 9.0

Picture 640x480 JPG
Video avi on xvid encode 1201 bitrate with mp3 160kbps audio

I load the jpg and the avi..
Put the jpg first (5 seconds duration).. then i add the burn effect + video..

run the project with the option as same as first video.

When it finish.. the audio is not sync with the video. Apparently.. star the audio
as the video was with out the jpg and the effect.

I have a delay of 5 seconds from the original video.. that's the time the video load the jpg and the effect until the video starts.
What can i do?

Do you have the mpeg-4 plug-in for VS9? I ask because the xVid you are using is of course an mpeg-4, even though it is using the carrier extension of .avi. If you don't have the plug-in and don't have a full registered copy of VS9, then you may have to convert the mpeg-4 to mpeg-2 first using a third party program (e.g. SUPER).

You also don't say what your burn properties are -- are they set to produce a standard (as opposed to mpeg-4) video DVD? If so, then the program is obviously trying to convert your mpeg-4 with mp3 audio to DVD-standard mpeg-2 with LPCM/mpeg/AC-3 audio on the fly, and obvious errors have crept in.

I am also not certain that setting the project properties to 'same as first video' will be effective in this case, since you haveapparently place the jpeg first in line, and did so before you inserted the video clip (??), and so VS9 might see that as the first 'video'. I generally first insert my videos, and only later insert single still photos and color slides, so the question of how VS treats an initial jpeg has not arisen for me. However, others might have more information on that...
