Hi,
I'm using MF 3.0SE under Windows 98 SE.
I find that if I try to open a .dwz file from inside Windows Explorer, MF will launch and give me the option of opening an existing project, but if I then put in the address of the .dwz file either nothing happens or I sometimes get a message ' this disc cannot be edited. It might be a blank disc'.
More worrying still is that if I then close MF, the .dwz file disappears, just leaving the video (movie file MPEG) and .ufo files in the file folder.
Could you please tell me:
1. If there is any way of recovering the lost .dwz file? It does not appear anywhere if I do a file search.
2. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
3. Is this a known problem with MF 3.0?
4. Does this happen with later versions of MF?
Thanks
Problem re-opening .dwz files
Hi Mike,
I own MF 3.0 Disc Creator edition (not SE), and I'm running XP Pro.
I do not have that problem... and I just checked to make sure: double-click a dwz file and MF simply opens that project.
The Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder options -> File types -> DWZ file:
Action: open
"C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator\DVDMF.exe" %1
Use DDE (is enabled)
Sounds like your installation is opening the file as a new project, overwriting it! Maybe check all preferences, like the Working Folder.

Hi Henry,
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Interesting to know that you don't have this problem.
I have checked the folder options and everything appears to be OK: Extension DWZ, Content Type (MIME), Opens with DVDMF.
I can't see anything about DDE, so assume that this must be something in XP.
I have also found that if I try to re-edit a project using open DVD MF/3.0/EDIT_DISC/DMF_on_DISC using MF, the file won't open. Fortunately, it doesn't 'disappear' when I close the application.
All very frustrating!
