screen devide

Post by dabear »

Hey guys Iv'e been away for a bit since my last question I asked just wanted to say I figured it out. Thanks for the help but I bring upon a new question.

I have MSP8.0 and checked the manual.

I have a video that I want playing then pause it so its an image. Then with the image frozen from that video, have it scroll to the left so it takes up half the screen(Left side) still frozen. Then have another video fade in on the right.

I just need to know how to divide the screen for videos. Then I think I could figure the rest out. Also What is the name for the effect i'm asking.

A screen shot would be nice or if someone could explain it to me. Thanks!!!

Split screens are easy, using 2-D Basic moving path on both sides. For the fade-in, you may wish to use Overlay Options.

Thanks devil. I figured out the 2d moving path. How do you remove some video off a file. Like i get how to roll the video to the left and have it on half the screen but how do you trim off some video. Like it would look better if the image had less background on the right side.

You can crop (p.157 of the manual) or you can place the video you wish to remove parts of on, say, track video 1 and put the other one on video 2. Where the latter overlaps the former, you won't be able to see it.
