Capturing Video
I dont know if this is a silly question but is there a way to stop the juddering like strobe effect when viewing the screen on the pc while capturing the video from my camcorder. I am using VideoStudio 9.

Depending on exactly what form the distortion takes, it could also be indicative of other problems. If you are capturing DV and don't have a relatively powerful computer, then you may be capturing using DV Type 2 encoder and your computer cannot handle the output. The capture may show juddering video and corrupted audio. In that case, change to Type 1 in the Options cogwheel icon on the capture screen.
If you are capturing direct to mpeg-2 format, then you may be capturing using the wrong Field Order. If capturing from most digital sources, you should normally be using Lower Field First (Field Order A); while most analogue devices, including most capture cards, use Upper Field First (Field Order B).
We normally recommend against capturing direct to mpeg-2 unless you have no alternative (e.g. from a capture card which does not allow capture to DV/AVI format), and particularly if your computer is not a powerful one.
