Just wondering, as I am still fight flickering issues with firewire captured video (from within MF3). My problem comes and goes. I can not seem to find exactly what causes the flicker to occur in my out. I now about using the Advance=1 INI file setting, and at times I can create 10 DVDs without flicker, but then it re-appears, and I fught again, and it goes away by itself somehow.
Anyway since ULEAD is now owned my InterVideo, what's the difference between Movie Factory and WinDVD Creator? Are these the same products with different front-ends? Is either any better or more reliable than the other? Every so often, I get an offer from ULEAD/InterVideo with special discounts. Maybe I could get by the frame-based flickering fights?????
Movie Factory vs. InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2
I'm pretty sure the InterVideo programs are different. Both products existed before InterVideo bought Ulead. Why don't you download the InterVideo free trial?
Just one more confusing option.... It's hard enough comparing the various Ulead products!!! Lets see... They all claim to capture, edit, make DVDs.... I guess all of thier products can do everything... Hmmm....

Hi,
As DVDDoug mentioned, the programs are different. The full version of WinDVD Creator 2 was included with a Plextor PVR/capture device I bought last year and I used the program for a month or two. WinDVD Creator 2 would be more accurately compared to Ulead's VideoStudio 9 as both programs offer multi-layer timeline AND storyboard editing. Of the two, VideoStudio 9 has far more features and flexibility so for practical purposes WinDVD Creator 2 became somewhat obsolete when Intervideo acquired Ulead. Just speculation, but I wouldn't be surprized if Intervideo were to discontinue WinDVD Creator 2 when Ulead releases "VideoStudio 10 Plus" which by most accounts will be very soon. That said, MovieFactory 5, VideoStudio 9 and WinDVD Creator 2 all share some common features. Of the three, MovieFactory 5 is the easiset to use and offers the latest DVD menu authoring features. On the other hand, if you need advanced editing capabilities you might want to consider the forthcoming VideoStudio 10. One thing I've found to be true of all video editing/authoring applications, it really pays to experiment with trial versions before making a purchase. Hope that helps
