I moved from the trial version of MovieFactory 4 to the purchased version and since have not been able to burn a DVD. I was using Maxell DVD+R without any problem.
I did notice once I installed the purchased version and restarted my computer I got the Found New Hardware message indicating Sony CD-RW DVD-RW, which was not new. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the CD-RW/DVD-RW.
Now I have tried Memorex and Verbatim DVD+R. I get the message:
"Failed to record data to the disc. Error:DVD+R SPTI-2A-02-02-30-05.
Prior to this final message I get a prompt that there were problems recording try again or reboot.
I can burn to DVD+RWs and CD-RW
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Now my CD/DVD Drag N Drop application will not record as well.

This is known as packet CD writing and needs to be turned off or disabled to allow Movie Factory to gain control of your DVD writer. Now my CD/DVD Drag N Drop application will not record as well.
Do not burn at speeds higher than 4x regardless of the capabilities of your DVD writer or the speed of the discs. The higher speeds will cause problems.
