Trevor, like you, I also have difficulty understanding the question, but I think it is more than just a problem of thumbnails. My own interpretation would be as follows: "I use Video Studio 9.0. I have finished my project, but some clips do not appear [play??] in the preview window, and the program does not allow me to burn a DVD. I think it is a codec problem."
Rieti 70 -- if this is correct, then I am afraid we need more information from you. What type of files have you included in your project? What are their properties? How were they captured?
As for codecs, then if you are capturing digital DV video, and are using Windows XP, the necessary DV codec is supplied by Microsoft as part of XP. The mpeg-2 codec necessary for rendering and producing the final DVD is part of the Video Studio installation. However, if you are using other types of files e.g. mpeg-4, then you will need to have an mpeg-4 codec on your computer (e.g. the free DivX codec), AND you will need to download the mpeg-4 plug-in for Video Studio 9, which is free if you are a registered owner of the full program. And for any other type of file e.g. MOV, you will need to obtain the relevant codecs (e.g. the free Quicktime codec).
