Does anybody know the name of the font that is used for the title of the book on this page? I've seen it on old travel posters and other kitchy type stuff, but I can't find the name of it anywhere.

You are more likely to find it if you try Googling "typeface" if, indeed, it is a commercial one. There are many ad hoc typefaces created by artists for things like this. If you do find it, you may have great difficulties introducing it in a computer if it hasn't already been done commercially and you may have to pay heavily to licence the use of it (most uncommon typefaces are as protected as well as videos, music etc.)

Try here, for a start. They have a small collection of over 1,000 typefaces catalogued. If you search farther, you'll find over 10,000 to choose from. However, be warned, not all typefaces are available in all fonts (no, the words do not mean the same: typeface means the style and font the size).

Do you wish to create one word as in the 'Havana' title or do you need to make a string of text? As Devil says many of these typefaces have been adapted from other fonts and are not a complete font in themselves. Older pre computer age lettering was created by hand, with pen and brush. I have several thousand fonts on hand but couldn't find the one you need.

It's sort of close to Bauhaus. If you want to create a word. Find a font that is similar. Take it into a programme such as Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator.
Convert the text to curves, or to graphics. Then manipulate untill you get the shape you need. I do this all the time as it is easier and often quicker than searching through thousands of fonts. You could alter Bauhaus quite quickly by flatening the 'N' and close the cross stroke on 'A'. If you wish to set it up as font it can be done using a font creating programme, but takes lots of time. I have done it but it's quite a marathon.

Do a google search for "Font Viewer" and you will find plenty of free
Font viewer programs available.

Using one of these I checked the fonts installed on my computer and found several similar (Though not exactly the same) fonts already on my system.

I am sure you will be more than happy with a "near miss"
