Titles Adding to Chapters and Extending Questions

Post by Mister Mike »

Ok now that I have gotten my self going. Coping my tapes and burning a copy I can watch on my dvd. I have a question about editing titles.
Note: I am using Ver. 7se

1. How do you add a title to a chapter? I have tried a few different ways but no luck?

2. How do you extend the title so it stays on the screen longer at the end of a animation clip . I know you can add more time but thats not what I mean. Example
If you have a title say "Summer Vacation at the Beach" and you have it zoom in or roll in etc. If you select it to Zoom in or out a word or line at a time when you preview it as soon as that last word or line appears on the screen the title is gone. You can't even read the title in full because it dissapears so fast. I guess you could add the same title to the end of first one. But can't you just extend your original title so that it stays on the screen for a few seconds after it completes the zoom in?

Hi

Not sure that this is what you want but give it a go.

Having created your title drag it to the library.
This gives you a copy.
Now drag the title back to the timeline adjacent to the original.
Change the animation to ‘fade out’

You could make two separate titles but using the library ensures that the words are in the same place.

Thank you. Yes I think that would work. I just thought there would be an easier way. Not that what you say is hard but if you are not right on the money bringing in the second part the title will flash if there is any gap. I would have to view this as a hicup in the software. You should be able to read titles in full no matter how they are brought into the screen. They should not disapear so quickly.
