Post by cjpelley »

I just bought the dvd xpress and it came with the movie factory 3.o..... I can preview and record from my vcr and my camcorder but, it will only do it in black and white! Pleas help me to figure out how to get it in color. I wasnt for sure if I was doing something wrong or if the unit was defective..... Thank You

Please complete your system details on your profile page.
When capturing your video are you capturing in PAL or NTSC.

Here is a review of your DVD Xpress. If you have a PAL unit and are attempting to transfer NTSC material into your computer then you will only get black and white.
The same applies the other way round NTSC --> PAL
This is due to the tuning circuitry of the hardware and cannot be overcome by software settings. You would need to obtain a capture unit designed for your TV standard if you want colour.

getting color using movie factory

Post by cjpelley »

I had color when I first hooked it up and I was capturing video. The system froze up on me and now I dont get anything in color. I had it before, that is why I was thinking maybe the device was malfunctioning.
When it froze up it said that there was an error and that it would shut down now and that I would lose what I had been working on.

Check that you are using the correct capture plug in
Click on Tools --> Change Capture Plug-in… --> select ADS Instant DVD USB2 Capture Plug-in from the drop-down menu --> click OK to confirm changes
Also... Install the latest driver update
