Is there an inherent conflict between MovieFactory 4 and the Pioneer DVD-R100 player/recorder that prevents audio on recorded DVDs from being heard?
Pioneer tells me that they and ULead are working on the problem, but I have seen no evidence of a fix.
I get garbled audio from one particular disc and none at all from all the others I have tried - both commercial and home-recorded.
DVD Player Compatibility
What format dvd (NTSC or PAL), what type of audio are you using (i.e. lpcm, AC3, mpeg, other), and what type of audio hookups do you have to your speaker system (i.e. just using TV Speakers, or going through a sound system, etc...)
Does the audio play fine using the dvd in a dvd-rom drive and playing it on your computer with something like PowerDVD
Regards,
George

NTSC format with standard computer speakers connected to sound board.

All of the DVDs play sound and video perfectly in the Pioneer unit using PowerDVD.

I think I misunderstood the problem. can you please explain what the issue is again...Kentraco wrote:What format dvd (NTSC or PAL), what type of audio are you using (i.e. lpcm, AC3, mpeg, other), and what type of audio hookups do you have to your speaker system (i.e. just using TV Speakers, or going through a sound system, etc...)

No audio from any DVDs (commercial or home-recorded) played in Pioneer DV-R100 through MovieFactory software.
Same DVDs play audio fine through Power DVD.
The cause of the problem was that the MovieFactory software bundled with the Pioneer DV-R100 does not play Dolby Digital sound.
I purchased and installed MovieFactory 5, and it works just fine.
