Smartdownload/pushfile v10, and 11, doesn't work

Smartdownload/pushfile v10, and 11, doesn't work
Cannot get url from push file, both in v10 and the trial version of 11.
Contacted tech support twice, basically an empty email
the Ulead logo, then I get my name, the case number,

ncs.zip, push problems
The fix for the smartdownload (Push file error) from ulead.
Only problem, I get jiberish when downloading ncs.zip
any suggestions? (already emailed tech support once again)
For the problem that Smart Download fails to download monthly content (ex. PI6 Web Templates), you can solve it by doing the following:
1. Go to the program folder:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact 10
2. Delete “Free01.Ncs “ and/or “PI6 Web Templates.Ncs” at program then click Update button to refresh the two files from our web site.
3. Select content and click download button will be OK.
4. Replace two files at program folder with my attach files. Then selecting content and clicking download button will be OK.
Attachments:

Well we will see once ulead replies to me, again. I would think theywould have this fixed by now. Though kind of glad I am not the only one with this problem. Have the trouble with both v.10 & 11

I just downloaded the trial version of PhotoImpact 11. If I try to use the Smart Download I get 'cannot get url from the push file'. I have been able to download most of what it says I need from the web site. However, Component Designer will not install. I get the message: 'Setup program cannot find PhotoImpact 11 on your system. Please make sure that you have installed Ulead PhotoImage 11 first, then reinstall the program again'. There are other downloads that still are on the list as well that I cannot get because of the push file error.
I have a new Gateway laptop, AMD 64 Athlon, 1 gig RAM, 80 gig harddrive with 46 gig open. running Windows XP.

yes, I have the same problem with PI11, have ordered
the program. Supposedly the fix works with both v10, and v11.
If it works, I'll send you the link for the file.

same problems in March 4th thread
I was checking the threads once again, and came across the post in the first week of March, with the same problems.
I noted that they had emailed tech support several times also, with the exact problem? I emailed tech support once again, and asked them to check that particular thread out. I can't believe that we are the only ones having this problem?
I would think they would be well aware of the problem, and would say so?
Aggravating when you continue to support ulead products and can't get it fixed?
Though I hate to do it, has anyone called Ulead specifically for this problem? And if so any luck?

I followed the instructions, with the exception, I didn't have the files from Ulead. However It causes PI-11 to crash. I then just deleted the PI6 Webtemplates.ncs file. Then I could not use any web templates.
I then done a complete re-install, and I still can not access the web templates. I guess I should have ignored the PI6 stuff....

I sent two e-mails to customer service, one about the push file and the other about Component Designer. I got two responses. One said go through tech service (but this seems to be for only registered products) and the other said: May be caused by the following reasons: 1) When the lines connecting to FTP server site are crowded. 2) The FTP server site is crashed or malfunctioning. 3) The FTP server site is making a maintenance. Please try again later. Also suggest a download manager. You can download Go!zilla by using the following link....
I tried to use the Smart Down at around 3:00 am CST and just awhile ago at 1:30 pm and got the same result. I still can't get Component Designer to recognize that I do indeed have PhotoImpact 11 on my system and I can't get passed the push file error to complete the downloads. Not a happy camper with my first try at using Ulead's products.

pi6 templates, v10, v11 push files
I have the ftp site for the pi6 zipped file if you want to try that? The push problem like I say is with v10, and v11. No, I don't think it is the ftp site. Not sure who said it in the other thread, they thought it was the web address when it connects, that it may be in correct? I am curious if it is in the .hst file? I haven't heard back from them as of yet, when I do, I will let you know. I do notice tha some files in v10 and v11 folder are not associated with any particular program. Wonder if that could be a problem. Must be someone out there that knows or has the cure to fix this problem

Problem I have is with the smartdownload. I have a problem with the icon assoc files with pi11 so I am going to try and uninstall and re-install to see if it will clear this problem, maybe I will get lucky

I just downloaded the trial and keep getting these url push errors. Checked out the forum here and find out that not only is this a common problem, but ulead isn't doing diddly squat to help their users. Then I looked at the numerous other postings regarding unresolved crashes and problems. This reflects either incompetence or disregard for the customer. In either case, that's it for ulead. I'll look elsewhere to spend my software dollars.
