Really, it is appreciated, very much.

Having worked in the software and hardware development field for over 10 years, much of it in QA, I can honestly say this is the buggiest piece of software I have encountered in a long many years.

You guys are admirable for finding a way to use this hunk of junk and sharing it with others.

Again, thank you

Rex,
If you try the other video editors, you will find the same kinds of problems. Video editing is very complex and I tend to be more amazed that it works at all.

That said, the new-user traps that Video Studio presents have been there through three update cycles (at least) and have not been fixed despite the fact that I and others have repeatedly asked them to fix the user interface so they would not happen. Specifically: (1) The Share/Create Disk button should be disabled if anything at all is in the timeline display, (2) The Share/Create Disk/Add Vdeo file should be permanently disabled, and (3) Property/preference management needs to be unified and simplified: having four separate, uncoordinated user interfaces to accomplish what amounts to the same thing is extremely confusing to new users. (Properties have to be set/managed at Capture, Edit, Create Video, and Burn and failure to manage properties is the leading cause of bad video and frustrated users.) Moreover, Preferences are not stored in the project file, which makes it difficult to manage projects with different characteristics (e.g., analog, digital, high def, ...)

In a few days/weeks, we should know whether Ulead has complied with any of these recommendations in version 10.
