VideoStudio 8 SE DVD Problem

Post by StephenD »

Hello, I have VideoStudio 8 SE DVD and am experiencing a relink problem since daylight savings occured. Every file I click on asks me to relink it, whether or not it exists or not. I saw a patch for this on your website and downloaded it, but because my version is "SE DVD" it could not locate VideoStudio. What am I supposed to do?

Relink is (apparently) the only answer.

SE versions (again apparently - I don't use one to verify this :-)) don't accept the patches produced for the "full" product (you would have received the SE version as part of a promotional package i.e. included with some hardware such as a firewire card etc or on a cover disc of a computer magazine - it does not have full functionality enabled).

So you either relink (cheap option) or you upgrade to latest version of VS and receive the code fix as part of the upgrade (expensive option).

Please note that VS 10 is rumoured to be coming out soon, so you might want to hold up your upgrade purchase until that happens.

Relinking doesn't solve the problem. Also, the SE version seems to have all the components of a regular version, except that it also came with MovieFactory3 SE. I don't know of any functions of the product that are handicapped because of the "SE". Anyway, that is mostly irrelevant for the moment. I need to solve the relinking problem.

Hi Stephen,

I just checked the site, and the patch should work for the SE versions also. So I think another problem is related to the patch not seeing your VS install. I think once we can get the patch installed it may correct your problem.

There's a post I read addressing this, that was recent. I'll do a quick search and see if I can locate it.

**EDIT**

Ok I found one that deals with a similar problem with PI. HTChien posted a reply, which can be found Here

You might have a look at HTChiens post.
