Downloaded the trial version of 11.
The camera button is there , but the scanner icon isn't?
I have a Microtek 4600, I can go under file, scannner, and it works fine, but the icon doesn't show up like in my PI10?
I look at the other toolbars, and can't seem to find it.
Scanner button missing in PI11

Here is a workaround: Press Ctrl plus F7, or
Try going to the Command Menu/My Workspace/Customize/File/Scanner, select the name scanner and drag it to the Standard Toolbar and drop it. It will put the name Scanner and you will have to select the source, but no Icon.
You can always change your workspace, others might say delete the current.xum. I disagree, rename it to current.old just to be on the safe side. That way if nothing changes you can rename to its original name.

Is this a glitch in the program
I am looking at purchasing. Is this a glitch in the program. I haven't had this problem since I have been using PI since vers. 3.

tried both
I tried renaming the .xum file, didn't help. I did drag the word scanner from the command menu, all it did was put the word scanner there, I still have to click it then select my scanner.
I noticed other .xum's for 11, would one of them be corrupted? (advanced, basic photo, graphics, standard photo,
thanks bruce

I always run my Workspace in the Advanced Mode, I just tried to shift into all of the other modes, and they all have the Scanner Icon. However, my Icon still has the submenu that says Select Scanner. Go figure!?! Maybe that is the way it is supposed to be in PI11?
I would have to say your install failed to recognize your scanner. Try uninstalling the Trial, deleting the old directories where installed and reinstall again.
Otherwise, the Ctrl plus F7 keys are the only other quick way I know of to get at the scanner.

going to advanced put the scanner button there.
Also, after I selected my particular scanner,
just had to hit the icon for it to scan
