I am not able to hear the audio from an .MPG file when using the MovieFactory 3.5. Specifically, in "VideoStudio 8 SE" when I open the .MPG file in the preview pane it will play the video, but no sound will play along with it. I can see the name of the .MPG file in the top row of the "sound" view timeline.
I know that the .MPG file has audio associated with it because I can play it in Windows Media Player and WinDVD. I did create the .MPG file originally from a DVD by importing it into MovieFactory (i.e., I selected "File-->Insert Media File to Library-->Insert DVD/DVD-VR"). Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Any help in figuring out how to hear the audio when editing the .MPG file in VideoStudio 8 would be greatly appreciated. I'm new at this, so it may be a dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer online.

Neither MF3 or VS8 support dolby without purchasing a plug in.
The cost of the Dolby (AC3) plug in is almost the same as purchasing the latest version of VideoStudio 9 - but bear in mind that version 10 is soon to be released.
MF5 supports Dolby but again it has been temporarily suspended whilst some changes are being made but should be back on the shelves soon.
