VIDEO FILE TOO BIG FOR DVD...PLEASE HELP!
I have created a video file that is about 1 hour and 50 minutes long...when I captured the video I set the quality MPG for 100...is that why the file will now not fit on a DVD?

1 hour of video = 1 x 4.7G DVD (as a rough rule of thumb, you can play with the bit rate at the output stage and adjust down a bit at the expense of quality).
So 1hr 50minutes of video will require a Dual Layer (DL) disc or 2 x 4.7G Discs - are you trying to use a DL disc?
You really should read the second sticky post on the forum before posting a question, extra information will sometimes lead to a quicker resolution of your problem.
Good luck,
Peter

Quoting Myself -
Ideally, you encode to MPEG once, after editing.
You can easily fit your (almost 2-hour) program on a single layer DVD. If you use AC3 audio (allowing more room for the video) the quality should be quite acceptable. If you are a critical viewer with a plasma TV, the quality may not be acceptable to you.Higher bitrate = higher quality = more disc space = lower compression = less playing time.
Lower bitrate = lower quality = less disc space = higher compression = more playing time.
When you re-code to a lower bitrate, the quality will be somewhat less than selecting the "correct" bitrate in the first place. The Yet another reason to avoid MPG capture!...captured the video I set the quality MPG.
