jirky conversion to mpeg

Post by Anthea »

I have been editing captured video film in Media Studio Pro 7 in Video Editor. When I convert the file to mpeg ready to burn using Wizard, the film becomes jirky almost like it is missing frames. I have looked in frames per second option in options but it only has 25 frames per second as the only choice.

I am very naive at this sort of stuff but have spent hours editing and preparing this video only to find that the finished product is substandard. Can anyone please help me?

Regards

Please provide more details:
a) fill in your hardware in profile (see the "Before you post" instructions)
b) tell us your captured format
c) tell us what settings you used in your MPEG encoding.

I would hazard a guess that you have your field order reversed also.

a) I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by hardware profile
b) Captured format is Digital Video Cassette (is that what you mean)
c) I don't know what you mean by settings with MPEG

Hi Heinz,

Thanks for your advice but I don't know what that means.

I'm sorry, but it is not reasonable to ask us to repeat the whole User's Manual plus all the tutorials here. Have you even looked at the User's Manual, because there is a wealth of info there? There is also much at http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewforum.php?f=27. However, I suggest you buy Charlie Hill's book at http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=11899 as this goes from raw beginners to advanced levels.

Above all, read http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8961 very carefully and comply with these instructions, please.

You simply have not given enough info to allow us to help you.

No-one asked you to do anything - this is a voluntary response site I thought. I thought maybe I was not the only one who had had this problem and that there might be a simple answer. Please don't waste your valuable time on me anymore and thank-you for your assistance.

I guess you got all the voluntary response you gonna get if you don't want to help us help you.

You don't seem to know the least bit about what you are trying to accomplish. Do you expect us to talk you through it? Be reasonable, please.

I'm sure I don't only talk for myself but many a user here, we want to help but, if you cannot answer the simplest of questions, how can anyone?

Hi Anthea,

What Devil is saying is that we need the requested information in order to help. However if you don't understand what those things are, for us to explain them would be like repeating information that is easily found in the manual and tutorials.

Try to learn the basics, such as the file formats, MPEG, AVI, DV-AVI, etc, that way when you need help you will be able to provide the necessary information.

Follow the links provided by Devil to learn about video editing. I too will recomend Charile Hills book, Getting Results with MSP 7.

Dear Vidoman,

Thank-you for your most reasonable response. As I said I had thought it might be something simple like turn on the whoseewhatsit and all will be well. Obviously I have a lot to learn so I will go and do more reading. I DID search before I asked and could find nothing that sounded like the problem I was experiencing.

Perhaps try a more user freindly program, like Movie Maker.
Or Videostudio.
Have fun!
