ripping out useless colors .. how?

If i have a pic of something with a white background but i just wanna display that pic with that white background replaced by transpareny ( grey/white blocks ) how will i do that?

for example:
this is a pic:

:oops:

and the white area surrounding it are the useless colors.. i wanna replace them with transparency!!

Use the Magic Wand tool to select the white area. Make sure you have the proper object selected in the Object Manager.

Click "Selection Options" and make the selection area tranparent.

You will have to do this for each object, UNLESS... If the area to be made transparent is exactly the same in all objects, then CTRL + click or SHIFT + click to select all the objects, then "Make selection area transparent."

When you optimize the animation on the Optimization panel of the Workspace, make sure the Transparency button Image is on.

Make area transparent object is disabled

i clicked on the white area it selected that area and then i clicked on Selection Tools and the option was disabled!

You missed an important instruction in my first reply:

Use the Magic Wand tool to select the white area. Make sure you have the proper object selected in the Object Manager.

If you don't have an object selected (highlighted) in the object manager, that option is greyed out.

Try again.
