making widescreen avi's in to letter box dvds

Hi,

Is there anyway that I can get MF3 to turn my widescreen avi's in to letterbox format dvds?

I have some avis that i want to burn to dvd. In media player they appear fine with black bars above and below so that they appear fine. When i burn them using MF3 it stretches them vertically rather than padding them out using black bars above and below.

Any idea if this can be resolved ?
