Is movie factory right for my requirements?

Post by JAL »

I am sorry to bother you all, but it seems this is the only way I can try and get some help. I have downloaded the trial version of movie factory 5 and for a dummy like me, it is working nicely. Whether it is just the trial version that has not all its components or not - I am not sure it will do all I want it to, or wether I should be looking at one of the DV authoring softwares - Can anyone tell me whether it will do all the following -

I want to produce a DVD that has five seperate menu items, the DV clips for these seperate items have to be clipped after capturing from my Sony handycam (which it has been doing nicely in the trial version) - can I merge two or more seperate clips together with transition effects within the one menu item, and can I add an audio narration file and still have the background sound from the original film? sorry to be such a pest but I cannot work out whether. Hope someone can help. If this is the one for me then I have to wait until it is available to buy it seems! Julie

You might find Video Studio is more suited to your needs.
There is a 30 Day Trial available.

If you find VideoStudio is more suited then it is worth hanging on a little while longer due to impending release of Video Studio 10

Hi,
To add to Steve's post the trial versin may have some flaws and what your asking a person to explain would be a rather lengthy reply.
So print out the manual for MF4 and read it.

I think VideoStudio 9 would be easy to add the audio tracks and perform some editing.
