First mini-project with trial version of VS9. Now trying to transfer the edited video back to a DV camcorder.
The Share Step Options Panel offers "DV recording" but selecting this gives a message "A video clip must be selected in the Library"
Presuming I had to create a video file first I did this, keeping to the format of the first clip - AVI. This rendered version is filed as an AVI file but I cannot open it. I've tried to open it from VS9 but only the VSP file appears in the folder, not the AVI file.
Going into the folder from Explorer the AVI file appears but VideoStudio is not on the list of programmes to open it.
Where am I going wrong?
Problem exporting to Camcorder

Hi Trikie,
Video Studio will not open an AVI, or an MPEG, it uses VSP (Video Studio Project) files. Ulead DVD Player, Windows Media Player, ect.. will open and play AVI files (at least they should be able to).
When it is telling you that "a clip must be selected in the library", do you have a clip, the one you rendered, selected? When you render your project, the rendered file, will show up in the Video Library. Just click it once to select it, then proceed with the steps to record it back to tape.
Regards..
Ron P.

Can you provide more details about how you created the AVI file?
It is possible that it is a non-AVI file with an AVI extension -- you may even want to try renaming it to .MPG to see if it opens.
In order to create a file that can be exported back to a camcorder, use the existing DV AVI template, or use "Custom" and the the Options dialog to select the DV codec.
