Hybrid CD? I want put to CD-R with VCD slideshow PC viewer

Post by hafanana »

Hello,

I maked with "Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow" VCD with fairytails (pictures + audio in mp3) and now i want put to CD-R freeware PC viewer and some freeware puzzles, that i compiled (EXE files for Windows XP).

How to?

Whenever i burn this VCD with Ulead, the CD-R is closed. If i copied content of VCD to hard disk, and included some files (autorun.info, menu.exe and folder called SRC with puzzles) my DVD player dont recognized, that is a VCD...

:(

What should i do?

I haven't tried to do anything like this myself but here is what I'd suggest:

Use PS4 to burn a standard VCD. When complete, open the VCD and export the 7 folders (CDDA, CDI, EXT, KARAOKE, MPEGAV, SEGMENT, VCD) to your PC. Using a burning app like Roxio or Nero, add the 7 folders (keeping the folders intact) along with your extra applications to a CD data project and burn it. Whether a standalone DVD player will be "confused" by the additional files is unknown. If so, you might be better off making a hybrid version for the computer and a seperate VCD-only version for your standalone DVD player.

I'd also suggest posting your question on the web boards at:

CDR-Zone http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/index.php
and
CD-Freaks http://club.cdfreaks.com/

Someone there can probably tell you if what you want is possible.

Good luck!

I thought that might be the case. Sorry it didn't work. If you post your questions in the forums I mentioned previously I think there's a very good chance someone will have the answers you need. Not necessarily specific to PictureShow but more in terms of formatting a mixed-mode VCD. If you come up with anything worthwhile please append your post and share the info with us :-)

Good luck!

Sure. I posted it on CD Freaks http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=174936 and CDRZone http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6523#26523

No response on any channel :(

What Mike posted should be the correct steps to do it, but some old player might not be able to recognize this kind of VCD and you might need to try an new one.

That's what I thought, take the VCD with extra auto-run files to some shopping mall and try it with some players to see if it can be played.
