Should I see frames in timeline?

Post by mghia »

Hi,
I am still using VS 7 SE and have a question. After I import based on the recommended procedure specs, in Mpeg2 capture, the clip on the timeline only shows the inital scene and then a long black bar the length of the capture.
How do I get it to show indvidual frames so I can edit out some junk? Other programs I have used show each fram so I can cut or edit in.
Is this a flaw with this program that is fixed by newer versions or is there a way to turn on the feature? Or is because I captured in mpeg?

Thanks

These steps are for VS9

To view all the frames choose File, Preferences, Clip Display Mode, Thumbnail Only.

But to edit you will just view your clips/frames in the preview window. At the bottom of the window is the timecode where you can move thru your clips by hour, minutes, seconds or frames. Once you find the spot to edit you can use the scissors to cut it or drag the trim bars, depending on what you want to do with the clip.

When I select preferences VS9 crashes. I have just changed laptops and so I had just installed it on the old one and now on the new one and in both cases the software just falls over without and reason given. Just get the microsoft message asking to report it to microsoft.
