If you mean how do you save the project then click on the left icon at the bottom of the screen "Settings and Options" (Alt-G)
and you can save the project file. This does not save the videos or menus themselves but saves the set of instructions concerning the videos used, edits made, menus used and customistations etc. Therefore it takes up very little space.
If you mean How do you save a modified menu then click the customize menu button, make your changes and then an option exists on the left of the preview screen to "Add to Menu Template."

If you want to create a whole brand new menu from scratch, then you can do so if you also own PhotoImpact. A tutorial to do this can be found here:

The amount of space required to save a DVD to the Hard Drive depends upon what rendering is required to convert any non compliant videos to become compliant.

Right, Lets start with basics.
Firstly please complete you system specifications on your profile page.
Then tell us everything you can about your files.
How long do they play for (hours, minutes)
What are the file settings - with a file on the timeline, right click and jot down the settings in the pop up box titled "Properties"
Repeat for each file you have included in your project.
How many of these files are you including as titles in your project.
When you get to the burning screen what recording format have you chosen
(DVD-Video / DVD-Video fast re-editable / DVD +R)
Have you selected the more settings option and tried to include any of the options - project file, personal folder, archive images of slideshows.

If your project states you need 15.2GB of hard drive space then it is telling you that either
1. You are trying to put too much onto one DVD or
2. Your MPEGs are not DVD compliant and need to be re-rendered to become compliant. or
3. Both of the above!

Take a look at the following tutorial, OK it deals with capturing from a TV card but you will see I have shown how to import an MPEG captured with WinTV2000 so this will at least give you a clue
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=11379

When you click the bottom left icon "Settings and options" then select "preferences" a pop up box appears, the bottom of which tells you where your working folder is located. Because you haven't yet completed your system specifications I do not know how many hard drives you have.
Is that the same hard drive that you are attempting to burn your project to? If not, how much free space remains on that drive - how much free space is there on all of your drives, how many drives do you have.

Really you haven't given us that much to work on.

Hi,
The largest size you can make is for an 8.5 gig disk.

Previous versions allowed you to do what you wanted but that caused problems with the average user ending up wasting time. Thats' what the meter gauge is on the timeline to estimate the project for.

When you exported the videos to Mpeg2 you need to change the bit-rate of the video to a rate that can fit into the DVD specification. That largest size is 8.5 so you can change the project to 8.5 disk.

Base the video-bit-rate of the mpeg2 file or "Project Properties" on the TIME LENGTH of the video(s).
The more you convert the videos the more quality is lost.
If you write a 15+ video_ts folder converted from xvid files and shrink them down I would be surprised NOT to have any audio/sync problems.

If you use Dolby Audio that will give more room for a higher quality video_bit_rate.
You could use a video_bit_rate calculator but just hit the GEAR icon and "Change Mpeg2 Properties" -> Customize .
In the customize screen make sure to set to Dolby or Mpeg audio and change the bit-rate to 1/2 of what it is since the project is now estimating 15 gigs.
Then after hitting OK and going back to the timeline look at the size estimation gauge for the project and see if it's in the red or not.
You can repeat the process and increasing the bit-rate by increments of 100kbs watch the estimation meter. It's actually the easiest way.
Just give yourself some buffer space for fancy menus. I usually never use the full 4.370 gig on dvd. I usually burn approx 3.8 to 4gig stuff. Also having the extra 1/4" of blank space on the outer edges of the dvd reduces chances of fingerprints and errors from handling the dvd.

I don't think you need to use your method. You can do it all from MF.
Either a single layer or double-layered dvd. Simply change your project settings.

Hope this helps,

MD
