DVD - Quality of the image appears on the dark side

I've managed to sucessfully edit a video using Video Studio 9. When this is burnt to a DVD the image appears a little darker.

When played in preview mode the image is ok.

I've used the standard default settings. I am on a PAL system.

All help will be highly appreciated. Thanks very much.
