Need help! Project for school.

Post by TVstudent »

I'm a college student doing a research project on Ulead Cool 3D. Part of my project is to ask a question in a forum here and do a printout of it.... so here's my question. :)

Are the graphics and animations produced in Cool 3D compatible with most video editing softwares, and/or is exporting a finished graphic on to a video timeline simple and easy to perform?

I would suggest you read the manual/website and see what it can export and then review what video editing software accepts. That should yield an answer. As for your last question, that is a discussion for the editing software and not C3D since it contains the timeline you are referencing.

Pauley,
I think his assignment requires that he ask a question on a forum. I think that the assignment is directed more towards receiving help, or advise given on product forums, then how to do something with the program...

Hi Danya, welcome to the forums. :)

1. I use Cool 3D Production Studio, and yes the graphics and animations are compatible with most video editing programs. Cool 3D PS, allows exporting/creating AVI overlay (32 bit), AVI 24 bit, TGA, DirectX model, 3D Studio Model, Animated GIF, SWF (jpg or bitmap). You can also export to image files, GIF, JPEG, BMP, and TGA.

2. Exporting a finished graphic onto a video timeline is simple and easy to perform. Just go to the file menu, and choose your format to export to. However since this is a 3D authoring program, it is very demanding on computer systems, and generally short animations can take several hours to render. This is not unique to Cool 3D.

I hope that lands you an A+

Regards..

Ron P.,
Couldn't have said it better myself except for this line.
"However since this is a 3D authoring program...."

I know and you know, you meant 3D animation program. Just trying to help Danya with the correct terminology.

An addition to point 2 by Ron, if you have a Ulead editor, ie Media Studio or Video Studio, you can place the Cool 3D project in the timeline, without having to render out to a video file.
